Job summary

Wayne State College is seeking an Energy Plant Manager to lead energy plant operations and tunnel utility systems, including supervising staff. The role involves coordinating maintenance, safety, and procedural compliance to meet campus needs.

Typical hours are 7:00 am–4:00 pm with potential flex time to cover 24/7 energy plant operations, and involvement in budget input and efficiency planning.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years of related experience.
• Ability to work in extreme hot and cold conditions, bend, crouch, climb ladders, and assist in safe lifting up to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Supervises full-time and part-time personnel, including hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating staff.
• Coordinates and performs operation and maintenance of energy plant equipment (boilers, chillers, pumps, sensors).
• Oversees tunnel utility system operation and maintenance.
• Ensures safety procedures and policies are followed.
• Coordinates with Assistant Director of Energy & Utilities on budgets and efficiencies.
