Job summary

Salt Lake Community College seeks an Emergency Management Coordinator to advance safety, readiness, and resilience on campus. You will assist in developing, coordinating, and delivering preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation activities, and support SABM training, inventories, and mass notification efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience.
• 0–3 years direct experience in emergency management or related field.
• Valid driver’s license (Utah license within 6 months).
• Certification to teach CPR, AED, and First Aid (or within first five months).
• Ability to manage projects, training, and outreach.

Responsibilities

• Oversee SABM program management, training, and certification.
• Develop and conduct functional SABM exercises.
• Manage SABM budget and stipend process.
• Set performance criteria and determine eligibility for stipends.
• Lead First Aid, AED and CPR training sessions for staff.
• Maintain emergency equipment inventories and readiness.
• Assume authority in the Director's absence and support emergency plans.
• Coordinate community outreach and liaison with external partners.
