Job summary

Oakton Community College seeks a Senior Manager, Emergency Management to lead emergency planning and coordinate College-wide preparedness efforts. The role directs incident response actions, collaborates with the Chief of Police & Emergency Management, and ensures a comprehensive all-hazards approach to preparedness.

The position operates as an Essential Employee with recall duties and requires expertise in training, drills, and collaboration across departments to maintain a safe campus

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Emergency Management or equivalent combination of education/experience.
• Minimum of five years of leadership experience in emergency management.
• Demonstrated knowledge of NIMS and ICS principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement integrated preparedness plans and multi-year training exercise roadmap.
• Coordinate emergency operations during disasters and act as EOC Manager when needed.
• Lead hazard assessments and develop mitigation plans to reduce risk.
• Train executives and departments on ICS principles and emergency operations planning.
• Design and evaluate college-wide drills following HSEEP standards and prepare After Action Reports.
