Job summary

The College of New Jersey is seeking an Electrician in the Facilities Operations, Electric Shop, to perform installation, repair, and maintenance of campus electrical systems in accordance with codes and standards.

Applicants should have at least three years of experience, and may qualify with a New Jersey Electrical Contractor license; colorblindness test may be required. The role requires physical stamina and the ability to work in all weather.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of experience in the installation, inspection, repair, servicing and maintenance of electrical equipment, appliances, machinery, and circuits.
• Applicants who do not possess the required experience may substitute a current Electrical Contractor license issued by the New Jersey Department of Consumer Affairs for three (3) years of experience.
• Appointees may be required to pass a colorblindness test.

• Performs skilled electrical work in the installation, repair, adjustment, and maintenance of campus electrical systems and equipment.
• Ensures electrical systems are safe, reliable, and compliant with applicable codes and standards while supporting the College's mission.
