The College of New Jersey is seeking an Electrician in the Facilities Operations, Electric Shop, to perform installation, repair, and maintenance of campus electrical systems in accordance with codes and standards.
Applicants should have at least three years of experience, and may qualify with a New Jersey Electrical Contractor license; colorblindness test may be required. The role requires physical stamina and the ability to work in all weather.

Internal salary: Range 16 Steps 1-11 /Salary: $52,308.32 -$75,945.22
External salary: Range 16 Steps 1-4/ Salary: $52,308.32 -$59,402.09
The internal salary range is used for applicants who are currentNJ state employees with underlying classified status forpromotional calculations who meet the requirements below.

The Department of Facilities and Administrative Services is a largeoperational service organization that provides a broad array ofservices to the campus community through the following areas:Access Control Services, Automotive Services, Building Services,Energy and Central Utilities, Facilities Operations, Grounds andLandscape Maintenance Services, Mailing and Receiving Services,Occupational Safety and Environmental Services, and Risk ManagementServices. This position resides within the Electric Shop of theOffice of Facilities Operations. Works from electrical sketches,schematics, plans and specifications in accordance with theelectrical code or approved trade practices and establishedprocedures.
Reporting to the Supervisor of the Electric Shop, the Electricianperforms skilled electrical work in the installation, repair,adjustment, and maintenance of campus electrical systems andequipment. This position ensures that electrical systems are safe,reliable, and compliant with applicable codes and standards whilesupporting the College's mission of providing a well-maintainedlearning and working environment.
