Job summary

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is seeking a Supervisor, Electrical to lead electrical operations on campus. You will implement priorities, monitor performance, coordinate installations, and ensure safety and compliance while aligning with institutional goals.

Ideal candidates have an associate degree or higher in electrical fields, 2+ years coordinating and supervising, knowledge of fire alarm and low voltage systems, and a Nebraska journeyman license.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical training in electrical systems or related field.
• 2+ years coordinating installations, troubleshooting, repairs, or maintenance in electrical ops.
• 2+ years supervising staff, crews, or contractors.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, codes, safety requirements.
• Ability to read work orders, blueprints, specs, and electrical docs.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical operations and communicate work status and priorities.
• Monitor performance metrics and suggest improvements.
• Coordinate installations, inspections, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Review estimates and plans for accuracy and timeliness.
• Assign work and adjust daily staffing to meet priorities.
• Track work and project activity to ensure scope, schedule, and budget alignment.
• Coordinate with campus stakeholders to align with priorities.
• Oversee low voltage, fire alarm, card access and related activities, ensuring safety.
• Support safety compliance and standards; reinforce a culture of safety.
