Job summary

The University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities seeks a qualified Electrical Inspector to enforce the Minnesota Electrical Code across university buildings and to perform plan reviews, field inspections, and code enforcement for electrical systems.

This Civil Service, full-time position requires a Minnesota Master or Journeyman Electrical License, relevant education and experience, valid driver’s license, and the ability to work in diverse building environments.

Qualifications

• Current Minnesota Master or Journeyman Electrical License with ability to obtain Masters within 1 year of hire.
• Associates degree or BA/BS plus experience in commercial/institutional plan review and electrical inspection, or equivalent.
• Valid Class D Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site electrical inspections and document results in permit system.
• Perform field inspections for projects across the Twin Cities and Minnesota as needed.
• Review and enforce code compliance; coordinate with designers, engineers, and project managers.
