Construction Association of Michigan is seeking an Electrical Inspector to perform field inspections and conduct plan reviews for both new and existing electrical systems. The role ensures compliance with the Michigan Electrical Code, township ordinances, and relevant state regulations.
The ideal candidate will hold a Michigan Journeyman Electrician license and prefer an associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, electrical technology, or public administration.
Under direction of the Building Official this position performs field inspections and plan reviews for new and existing electrical systems, and equipment to verify compliances with the Michigan Electrical Code, applicable Township ordinances, and other relevant State regulations.
High School or GED required. Applicant must possess a valid Michigan Journeyman Electrician license. An associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, electrical technology, public administration, or a related field is preferred. A minimum of five (5) years of experience actively engaged in the electrical trade, as defined by Michigan Public Act 407, is required Applicants must be eligible for State of Michigan registration as an Electrical Inspector and Electrical Plan Reviewer under Public Act 407 and obtain the required registration(s) within thirty (30) days of hire.
