Job summary

The Ohio State University’s Student Life Dining Services is seeking a Dining Assistant Manager to oversee daily operation of campus dining units. You will manage a diverse team of full-time and student staff, ensure service quality and food safety, and coordinate procurement and inventory for multiple outlets on campus.

Role requires flexibility to work weekends and special events; strong customer service skills and background in food service management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 4 years relevant experience
• 1-3 years experience in food service management or related field
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as receipts, safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Successful completion of a background check

Responsibilities

• Assist in the management of a university dining unit serving ~2,500 people daily
• Supervise 10–15 full-time staff and up to 300 student employees
• Manage procurement and inventory of food and related goods
• Oversee service and customer relations and ensure standards of meals
• Supervise staff according to customer service standards and coach student managers
• Work weekends, evenings, special events and holidays as business needs dictate
