Job summary

University of Texas at Austin seeks a Dining Supervisor to manage daily operations of residential dining facilities and lead service staff on the front line. You will ensure safe, clean, and high-quality dining experiences while upholding UHD 5-Star standards.

You will supervise staff, participate in recruitment and onboarding, coach performance, and maintain guest satisfaction during service periods, with emphasis on safety and collaboration.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or GED.
• Two years of food service experience in a restaurant, commercial, or institutional facility.
• One year of supervisor experience in food service or similar capacity.
• Experience with operating standard kitchen equipment.
• Ability to complete and maintain Food SafetyTraining required by University Housing and Dining.
• Ability to complete and maintain University Housing and Dining cash handling training.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day dining room and service floor operations to ensure timely, clean, and high-quality service.
• Supervise full-time, part-time, and student staff working during assigned shifts.
• Champion a customer-first approach by ensuring staff deliver friendly and efficient service.
• Support clear and consistent communication across shifts by documenting shift updates, issues, and key action items.
• Represent UHD values through respectful communication and teamwork with staff, students, and guests.
