Job summary

Genuine Foods in Salem, OR is seeking a Cook to join our production kitchen. You will prepare and serve meals in alignment with daily menus and recipe standards, contributing to a safe, efficient service for students and staff.

This full-time hourly role offers opportunities to learn culinary skills, grow with a supportive team, and uphold our mission to provide scratch-made meals with excellent service in a school setting.

Qualifications

• Flexible and team-oriented: able to collaborate in a busy kitchen.
• At least 1 year of line cook or culinary experience.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and level-headed under pressure.
• Punctual and able to adhere to the time and attendance policy.
• Able to climb stairs and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Interested in Genuine Foods’ mission to enhance students' minds, bodies, and happiness.
• Experience working in a school environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure food safety standards are followed at all times.
• Cook and prep food accurately based on recipes and specifications provided by the Chef/Genuine Foods.
• Coordinate with team members to ensure all food is prepared on time for service.
• Maintain a clean working environment and assist the team with additional cleaning duties.
• Keep area stocked and organized.
• Perform any additional duties as assigned.
