Job summary

Ball State University Dining is hiring a Part-Time Food Service Worker on Ball State University campus. Work hours include a rotating schedule with multiple shifts and duties across food preparation, service, and cashiering.

The role requires physical stamina, ability to Stand long periods, and adherence to safety guidelines while serving students, faculty, staff and employees. The position offers a supportive team environment on campus.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must be able to read and follow safety policies and procedures.
• No allergies to soaps, cleaning agents, or related materials.
• Clean body, teeth, hair, nails, and clothing.
• Must be able to perform all physical and mental requirements listed in each duty.

Responsibilities

• Accurately assemble supplies and materials; set up service area and serve food.
• Hand wash and store pots, pans, and food service equipment.
• Clean equipment and work area, maintaining sanitation and safety.
• Perform cashiering duties using computerized machinery and maintain records.
• Greet customers to ensure positive relationships.
• Set up, operate and clean dishwashing machinery and related equipment.
• Scrape and wash dishes and sanitize work areas.
• Prepare produce and deliver to service area as required.
• Count and record amounts of food prepared and served.
• Grill or carve food as required.
• Obtain supplies from storage areas.
• Assist with laundry program.
• Wait and bus tables as assigned.
• Assign work to and direct student employees.
• Assist cooks in preparing food.
• Enforce all rules and procedures for payment and service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
