Job summary

The University of Indianapolis is seeking a Custodial Supervisor to oversee daily cleaning operations of custodial staff in academic buildings and dorms on campus in Indianapolis.

Responsibilities include supervising 1st and 3rd shift custodians, training and mentoring employees, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines, and coordinating with the manager through daily check-ins. You will participate in leadership meetings and approve attendance as needed.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years in the custodial field.
• Requires intermediate knowledge of cleaning terms and safety procedures related to hazardous chemicals.

Responsibilities

• The Supervisor will train and oversee the daily custodian operations in the academic buildings and dorms.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of 1st & 3rd shift Custodians.
• Regular communication with the manager, including two daily check-ins to review progress, address challenges, and confirm next steps.
• Provide guidance, training and mentorship to employees and address employee issues.
• Inspect, evaluate and provide feedback to team members.
• Ensure all employees adhere to company policies, regulations and safety guidelines.
• Participate in leadership and staff meetings to communicate objectives and updates.
• Approve attendance and Web Time Entry.
• Assign relief custodians to fill in for absentee workers.
• Follow the guidance and direction of the Manager.
• Other duties including special projects as required.
