Job summary

San Diego State University Imperial Valley is seeking a service-oriented Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming campus environment. This role performs a variety of custodial, maintenance, and support duties to ensure campus facilities are clean, functional, and ready for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

The position is full-time, temporary, on-site at SDSU-Imperial Valley Campus, with a non-exempt status and an anticipated end date of 6 months from the start date.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift and transport equipment up to 50 pounds.
• Working knowledge of custodial methods and equipment.
• General knowledge of cleaning chemicals.
• Experience in custodial or similar environment preferred.
• Experience with custodial floor equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Custodial services: clean classrooms, offices, restrooms, and entrances.
• Perform floor care, furniture cleaning, trash/recycling, and replenishment of restroom supplies.
• Support post-construction cleanup and special custodial projects.
• Maintain windows, stairwells, and exterior walkways.
• Support conferences and campus events.
• Report maintenance needs and assist with securing facilities.
