Job summary

Georgetown University is seeking a full-time Custodian on campus in Washington, DC, at 37th & O Street NW. The role involves following a detailed cleaning plan, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and responding to emergencies with supervisor guidance.

Responsibilities include snow/ice removal, water or fire damage cleanup, and event support, with a typical workload of cleaning 28,000–35,000 sq ft per day. A valid DC/MD/VA driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• HS or GED preferred
• One year of custodial work experience is preferred
• Requires valid and current driver’s license from Maryland, Virginia, or District of Columbia
• Must be able to read, write and speak English with understanding to read product label instructions and university policies

Responsibilities

• Perform general and specific cleaning and maintenance tasks to provide a clean, safe and pleasant environment under guidance from supervisor
• Assist with snow and ice removal, water or fire damage cleanup, and special event support
• Clean up to 28,000–35,000 square feet per eight-hour workday
• Adhere to safety rules, regulations and precautions while using standard cleaning tools and supplies
