Job summary

William & Mary is seeking a Custodial Worker for the 5:00am–2:00pm shift to maintain campus cleanliness and safety. You will clean restrooms, floors, surfaces, and windows, empty trash, and perform routine power equipment maintenance as needed.

Responsibilities include following PPE guidelines, handling cleaning chemicals, and ensuring effective sanitation across various buildings, including during weekends or holidays as required.

Qualifications

• Reading, writing, speaking and understanding English to follow instructions.
• Ability to operate powered and non-powered cleaning equipment and learn heavy floor care equipment.
• Willingness to handle cleaning chemicals, dilution systems and PPE as required.
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme temperatures and stand for long periods.
• Lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs and climb stairs as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial duties in academic, auxiliary, athletic, administrative and residential facilities.
• Clean, sanitize and maintain living, teaching, studying, work, and public spaces.
• Empty trash and recycling and maintain cleanliness of restrooms and common areas.
• Use power equipment and hand tools for floor care, cleaning and maintenance.
• Respond to service requests and maintain supply levels and safety protocols.
