Job summary

Frederick Community College is seeking a dedicated Custodian for the 1st shift to maintain a safe and clean learning environment for students, staff and visitors. The role includes routine housekeeping, equipment operation, snow/ice removal, and on-demand coverage for events, under essential personnel guidelines.

The position runs 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with a full-time schedule and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Ability to lift, move, carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and ascend/descend stairs.
• Experience communicating via e-mail.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine housekeeping including sweeping, mopping, and floor care.
• Clean restrooms and service areas; wash windows and dust furniture.
• Maintain and operate custodial equipment like vacuums and buffers.
• Communicate via two-way radio and check e-mail daily.
• Remove snow/ice and assist during adverse conditions as essential personnel.
• Provide custodial coverage for weekend events.
• Assist in set-ups and move heavy furniture.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
