Job summary

Seattle Pacific University seeks a Custodial Manager to lead a diverse team of four staff custodians and up to 25 student/seasonal workers. You will supervise, coach, and evaluate staff, and coordinate with contracted services to deliver consistent campus cleanliness and service quality.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, 3+ years of custodial management, strong customer service, and effective communication. It is an on-site, full-time position on the Seattle campus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• At least three years of custodial or maintenance management experience with oversight of contracted services; or one year supervisory plus three years in custodial/maintenance operations.
• Experience interviewing, hiring, training, and supporting employees.
• Strong customer-service and relationship-building skills.
• Clear and professional verbal and written communication.
• Ability to organize competing priorities and respond to deadlines in a fast-moving service environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a diverse custodial team; hire, train, supervise, and evaluate staff and student/temporary employees.
• Oversee contracted custodial services and coordinate quality inspections.
• Coordinate campus service requests with service desk and maintenance teams.
• Communicate needs and schedules to faculty, staff, and students; manage impacts of services.
• Monitor quality, coordinate work in the CMMS, and promote safe, efficient practices.
• Manage supplies and equipment; review requests and ensure environmental responsibility.
