Job summary

Illinois Central College is seeking a Counselor at the East Peoria Campus to support student success by addressing personal, academic, and career matters, promoting mental health, and coordinating resources across campuses.

Reporting to the Director of Counseling Services, the role involves individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, workshops, and referrals to ICC departments and community resources, including ICC111 Career Choice guidance.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in counseling or related field.
• 1-3 years direct experience in career counseling and personal counseling.
• Illinois State Licensure such as a LCSW, LPC or LCPC or ability to obtain within two years.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Experience with counseling theories and community resources.
• Experience providing individual, personal and career counseling sessions.
• Experience conducting personal development workshops.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate student success by offering personalized support and guiding students to resources.
• Provide individual and group mental health counseling and maintain documentation; crisis intervention as needed.
• Refer students to internal and external resources and collaborate with ICC departments.
• Lead and coordinate psychoeducational workshops for students, staff, and community partners.
• Teach ICC111 Career Choice and provide career information and referrals.
• Participate in committees and contribute to Division-wide responsibilities; support orientation and advising.
