Job summary

Illinois State University’s Student Counseling Services seeks a Staff Counselor to provide clinical services including triage, individual, couples, and group counseling, and case management. The role collaborates with campus offices to build a network of supportive services for students and develops programming and outreach with the Multicultural Center and its constituents.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree or Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy
• Eligibility for licensure in Illinois within 12 months of hire date as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC).
• Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
• Experience and skill in helping clients work on all aspects of their identity

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical services including triage, individual, couples, and group counseling and case management.
• Work collaboratively with other offices on campus to develop a network of supportive services for students.
• Develop and implement programming, outreach, and liaison to the Multicultural Center and to its constituents.
• Participate in after-hours crisis assessment, intervention and management.
• Participate in the Multicultural Center training, staff meetings, and programs
