Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, planning, or similar.
• Experience managing direct-report personnel in a team-oriented environment.
• Experience in construction project management with exposure to design/construction processes and contract management.
• Knowledge of project design phases, construction methods, and building codes; sustainability.
• Strong communication skills to explain detailed information to MSU staff and external stakeholders.
• Ability to read and feedback on construction drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Manage project managers and coordinators; coach staff to maximize potential.
• Track workload and manage staff and projects in the group.
• Engage with staff and clients to foster a connection-based work culture.
• Mentor staff on best practices in design/construction project management.
• Balance scope, schedule, and budget; manage risks and compliance in a public policy environment.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders; ensure MSU is a client of choice.
