Job summary

Michigan State University Infrastructure Planning and Facilities is seeking an Assistant Manager - Project Management to provide strategic leadership for MSU's capital projects. You will work with Capital Project Delivery Managers and IPF senior leaders to standardize processes, governance, and performance metrics, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or construction management.
• 8+ years of related experience in office procedures, administration, or operational activities.
• Valid Michigan driver's license and ability to operate university vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of project managers and support staff to deliver capital projects.
• Develop, implement, and improve project management standards, SOPs, governance, templates and best practices.
• Monitor KPIs (budget, schedule, change orders, contingency, safety, client satisfaction) and build dashboards for leadership.
• Oversee project financial management: budgets, forecasts, cash flow, funding, change orders.
• Support procurement, construction, occupancy, and closeout activities for capital projects.
