Michigan State University in East Lansing is seeking a Community Director to provide leadership, supervision, and development for a residence hall or apartment community housing 700-1100 students. This 12-month live-in role partners with staff, students, and faculty to advance the Residential Learning Experience and promote inclusive living-learning environments.

The role reports to an Assistant Director of Residence Education and requires graduate education in a relevant field plus experience

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a human services related field is required or strongly preferred.
• 1–3 years of full-time experience in residence life, housing operations, or student services is expected.
• This is a 12-month live-in position with responsibilities spanning administrative, operational, and conference functions.

Responsabilités

• Supervise Graduate Assistants or live-in Residence Hall Directors and staff; oversee daily operations of a residence community.
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate activities for the residence hall/apartment community.
• Manage budgets for programming and staff development and coordinate with campus partners.
• Develop and implement the Residential Learning Experience and related programming.
• Serve as hearing officer for basic level disciplinary violations and advise on student conduct.
• Provide crisis response and on-call duty coverage; manage openings, closings, and transitions of housing.
