Job summary

Plymouth State University in New Hampshire is seeking a Community Director to oversee a residential community of 250-500 students, supervise up to 14 Community Advisors and 15 Desk Attendants, and manage daily operations in a 12-month live-in role beginning January 2027.

The position emphasizes staff development, student engagement, crisis management, and collaboration with campus partners to support retention and safe, inclusive housing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Strong administrative and supervisory abilities.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication.
• Knowledge of crisis management and intervention techniques.
• Commitment to social justice, equity, and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Supervise up to fourteen Community Advisors and up to fifteen Desk Attendants.
• Oversee staff recruitment, development, and evaluation.
• Engage residents with educational and social programs to build community.
• Address student conduct, crises, and referrals to campus resources.
• Manage administrative tasks: work orders, access control, room inventory, and roster management.
• Collaborate with campus partners and participate in on-call duties.
• Demonstrate initiative and model professional conduct in a living-learning environment.
