Job summary

Arizona State University is seeking a Community Director for University Housing to lead and develop residential life communities across Tempe and other ASU campuses. This live-in role focuses on student success, program development, and strong partnerships with academic colleges to deliver a First Year Residential College or Second Year and Beyond experience.

Responsibilities include staff supervision, crisis management, and program assessment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR any equivalent combination of experience or training.
• Experience with college students in a higher education or student affairs environment.
• Knowledge of administrative operations of a residential community, budgeting practices, and supervisory principles.
• Knowledge of human or student development theory and practices; ability to develop programming and activities.
• Experience training and managing behavioral education in a residence hall complex.
• Experience with a student resident population and collaborating with campus professionals; ability to use personal computers and related software applications.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students and professional staff and manage residential communities.
• Lead First Year Residential College or Second Year and Beyond Experience initiatives.
• Develop and assess programs; deliver presentations to groups and stakeholders.
• Manage crisis situations and provide wrap-around resources; on-call coverage.
• Collaborate with ASU academic colleges to integrate residential college experiences.
• Maintain strong communication, data input and reporting; travel as needed; live in a university residence.
