Chartwells Higher Education in Purchase, NY, seeks a Catering Sous Chef to lead culinary operations at Manhattanville University. You will work closely with the Executive Chef on menus, catering events, and daily kitchen leadership, driving quality, cost control, and menu innovation in a fast-paced campus setting.

The role requires an Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts, progressive kitchen management experience, catering know-how, and strong food-safety practices.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree (A.S.) in Culinary Arts or equivalent professional experience
• Progressive culinary or kitchen management experience
• Catering experience strongly preferred
• High-volume, complex foodservice operations experience desirable
• Institutional and batch cooking experience a plus
• Strong understanding of food trends, quality, and cost control
• Comfort using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Outlook

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Executive Chef to manage food costs and expenditures
• Plan, develop, and execute seasonal and innovative menus
• Lead production and execution of catering events with high quality and presentation
• Supervise, train, and motivate hourly culinary staff
• Roll out new culinary programs with marketing and culinary teams
• Support ordering, inventory management, and kitchen organization
• Maintain sanitation, safety, and food quality standards
