Job summary

Georgia Southern University is seeking a Carpentry & Maintenance Supervisor to lead campus carpentry and maintenance activities at Armstrong Campus in Savannah. The role oversees shop operations, preventative maintenance, safety compliance, and coordination with EHS on moisture remediation.

A strong background in carpentry and at least five years of relevant experience is required. The position is full-time, non-exempt, with a salary of $31.25 per hour and benefits.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of related work experience using power and hand tools in a commercial/construction setting.
• Two or more years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee installation of components to buildings, such as handrails, ramps, strobes, footings, gutters, gutter guards and vehicle directional signage, barricades and signage
• Oversee and manage the Carpentry and maintenance shops for preventative maintenance and general repairs to plumbing, electrical, HVAC and carpentry needs
• Approve time in OneUSG for all employees that report to this position in the carpentry and maintenance shops
• Monitor work orders and ensure timely addressing for Carpentry and Maintenance shops
• Direct carpentry and maintenance conducted with complex machinery and tools
• Ensure compliance with safety codes
