Bon Appétit is seeking a Chef Manager to lead operations at a major campus dining location. You will oversee café operations, support menu execution, coach staff, and serve as a visible resource for students on menu offerings and allergens.

This role targets culinary leaders with high-volume experience who enjoy guest interaction, staff development, and delivering exceptional dining experiences.

Qualifications

• Culinary leadership experience in contract foodservice or higher education dining.
• Experience supervising teams in fast-paced, high-volume environments.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and HACCP principles.
• Experience with inventory management, purchasing, receiving, and cost controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily culinary and foodservice operations at a high-volume campus café.
• Supervise, coach, and support a team of culinary and front-of-house staff.
• Oversee food production, menu execution, quality, and presentation.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure smooth brunch, dinner, and late-night service.
• Open kitchen operations on Sundays and oversee production during service.
• Manage evening operations and closing tasks Monday–Thursday.
• Engage with students and guests about ingredients, allergens, and dining options.
• Monitor food safety, sanitation, and HACCP compliance.
• Support inventory management, purchasing, receiving, and cost-control initiatives.
• Assist with menu planning and promotional local/sustainable practices.
• Contribute to a positive culture focused on teamwork and guest experience.
