Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications preferred in HVAC, Plumbing, or Electrical.
• Minimum five years experience in millwright, plumbing, electrical, HVAC or boiler plant operations.
• Must have or be able to obtain the Central Heating Plant Operator certification.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills; work independently to solve complex problems.
• Solid math and computer skills; knowledge of steam and electrical distribution is preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license and own transportation for tools and materials.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair of campus equipment per daily work orders, supporting trades teams.
• Troubleshoot electromechanical systems and perform preventative maintenance on building systems.
• Operate and backfill biomass gasification plant to generate steam; manage boilers and related equipment.
• Collect process data, maintain logs, and understand basic process control systems.
• Comply with safety procedures, lockout/tag-out, and OSH policies; assist with snow removal and events as needed.
• Possess flexibility for weekend shifts and emergency maintenance calls.
