Job summary

Thomas College in Waterville, Maine, seeks a full-time Maintenance Technician to protect and optimize campus utilities. You will maintain boilers, pumps, HVAC and controls, perform preventive maintenance, and repair various building systems to support safety and comfort for students and staff.

The role requires at least five years in boiler operation or related work, the ability to respond to after-hours calls, and a willingness to work overtime, weekends, and during emergencies.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in commercial boiler operation or related experience preferred.
• Must pass criminal background check and fitness for duty test.
• Ability to adapt to adverse weather and work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain building utilities and associated equipment including boilers, pumps, air handling units, chillers, and DDC controls.
• Repair campus-wide HVAC, plumbing, light electrical, and mechanical systems; operate snow removal equipment.
• Manage maintenance work orders, track status, labor, and materials in CMMS; perform routine preventative maintenance.
• Back up as groundskeeper or general utility staff on other shifts as needed.
