Job summary

Colby College is seeking an HVAC Technician to maintain and repair all mechanical systems and temperature control work across campus. This full-time permanent role reports to the Supervisor of Mechanical and Electrical Services.

The starting rate is $24.00 per hour. The position requires a Maine driver’s license and the ability to work cooperatively within the Colby community while following safety rules.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid Maine Driver's License required.
• Mechanical knowledge for operating, maintaining, and servicing institutional building systems.
• Ability to read and understand plans, specs, and other technical docs; quick learning of new systems.
• Computer skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and service cooling towers, condensers, compressors, chillers, heat pumps, motors, air handlers, and related systems.
• Maintain proper chemical balance for closed water systems and pool water where applicable.
• Maintain Energy Management System including repairs, scheduling, and troubleshooting.
