Job summary

Barnes & Noble College in Irvine, CA seeks a Store Manager to lead daily operations, drive sales, and build strong campus relations. You will supervise a team, collaborate with the campus community and our Corporate Office to deliver exceptional customer service and profitable bookstore performance.

The role requires 5+ years of supervisory retail experience, a BA or related degree preferred, and the ability to schedule evenings, weekends and holidays. California Pay Transparency applies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years supervisory experience in retail preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or relevant field preferred.
• Leadership to direct and develop a workforce of managers and sales associates.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills to manage campus relationships and corporate initiatives while achieving customer sales and service goals.
• Familiarity with financial and customer service principles.
• Basic reading, writing and accounting skills required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills needed.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead store operations and drive financial results.
• Build relationships with campus community and corporate partners to create the finest and most profitable bookstore for the school campus.
• Train, direct, and counsel store team to create customer experiences that enhance bookstore loyalty and deliver measurable results.
• Model exceptional customer service and sales leadership.
• Analyze sales figures, interpret trends, and forecast future sales to manage all controllable costs and keep operations profitable.
• Ensure standards for quality, customer service, and health and safety are met.
