Job summary

Barnes & Noble College is seeking a General Manager to lead a store or group of stores with multi-million dollar annual volumes. You will drive sales, manage operations, merchandising, and campus relations while developing managers and store teams to deliver outstanding customer experiences.

The role requires strategic leadership, a strong commitment to customer service, and the ability to work with campus partners and the Corporate Office to maximize store performance.

Qualifications

• 7+ years’ supervisory experience in a retail setting preferred or a graduate of the Best Seller Program.
• Bachelor’s in Business Administration or relevant field preferred.
• Leadership experience to direct and develop a workforce of managers and sales associates.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills to manage campus relationships and corporate initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a store or group of stores with annual volumes over $6m or an SM report.
• Manage financial results, operations, merchandising, and customer service.
• Develop and coach managers and team members to deliver excellent customer experiences.
• Build relationships with campus communities and corporate partners.
• Ensure safe, well-merchandised stores with effective loss prevention.
