Job summary

Barnes & Noble College is seeking a General Manager to lead a bookstore or group of stores in the campus network. You will steer financial results, operations, merchandising, and talent development to deliver top service and sales outcomes.

You will build strong campus partnerships, recruit and coach managers, and ensure a compelling customer experience in a dynamic retail environment on campus.

Qualifications

• 7+ years’ supervisory experience in a retail setting preferred or a graduate of the Best Seller Program.
• Leadership experience to direct and develop a workforce of managers and sales associates.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills to manage campus relationships and corporate initiatives while achieving customer sales and service goals.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a store or group of stores with annual volumes over $6m.
• Manage financial results, operations, merchandising, and campus relations to maximize profitability.
• Train, direct, and counsel team members to create exceptional customer experiences and store loyalty.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and loss prevention standards.
