Job summary

Southwestern Oregon Community College is seeking a Student Worker to assist in campus bookstore operations in Coos Bay. You will handle customer service, cashier duties, and inventory tasks while helping with promotions and buyback activities.

The position requires being a current degree-seeking student enrolled in at least 6 credits, maintaining SAP with a minimum 2.0 GPA, and FWS eligibility. Strong math, computer, and time-management skills are valued.

Qualifications

Must be a current degree-seeking student enrolled in at least 6 credits.
Must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress and a minimum GPA of 2.0.
Must be eligible for Federal Work-Study (FWS) based on FAFSA.
Friendly, outgoing and able to help provide an inviting atmosphere.
Basic math, computer, and time management skills.
Retail and marketing experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Provide and maintain a high level of customer service assisting faculty, staff, and students.
Act as cashier ensuring customer ID, personal, and credit card information is protected.
Maintain inventory levels and communicate with manager when supplies need to be reordered.
Keep shelves well stocked and assist with marketing merchandise such as window and in-store displays.
Assist in planning and organizing in store promotions.
Assist with end of term buyback.
Assist with inventory data entry, shipping and receiving to maintain an accurate inventory.
Keep store in a clean and orderly manner and assist with daily operations.
