Job summary

Southwestern Oregon Community College is seeking a Student Dining Attendant/Cashier to operate the cash register, assist guests, restock supplies, and maintain a clean, welcoming dining space on campus. You will contribute to a positive atmosphere for students, staff, and visitors while handling transactions with accuracy.

The role offers flexible hours around your class schedule, on-the-job training, and a free shift meal.

Qualifications

• SWOCC Students – You must be a currently enrolled student.
• Friendly & outgoing – enjoy interacting with students, staff, and visitors.
• Reliable & responsible – show up on time and ready to work.
• Detail-oriented – keep the dining area neat and organized.
• Food safety conscious – must obtain an Oregon Food Handler Card within 30 days (SWOCC covers the cost!).

Responsibilities

• Act as cashier; Operate the cash register by processing payments accurately, handling various forms of transactions, and reconciling sales at the end of each shift.
• Fills and wipes off condiment containers. Restocks napkin and eating utensils.
• Wipes down dining tables and chairs. Keeps dining and service areas clean during and between service times. Sweeps and mops dining hall.
• Cleans and sanitizes equipment, utensils, appliances, work surfaces, serving and storage areas to comply with health and sanitation regulations.
• Curate and manage background music to enhance the dining atmosphere, ensuring a pleasant and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.
