Job summary

Southwestern Oregon Community College is seeking a student worker library assistant to support daily library operations. You will check in/out materials, shelve items, assist patrons, and help with basic catalog tasks using the county-wide system.

You must be a current degree-seeking student enrolled in at least 6 credits, maintain SAP and a 2.0 GPA, and be eligible for Federal Work-Study. This position offers a flexible 3–20 hour week schedule and a friendly campus environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and use English to understand procedures and manuals.
• Effective oral and written communication with students and staff.
• Able to work with diverse backgrounds and maintain a helpful attitude.

Responsibilities

• Check in and check out items using county-wide library system.
• Shelve items using Library of Congress call numbers and shelf read.
• Assist patrons in locating items and operate basic office equipment.
• Perform filing, answering phones, dusting, and routine clerical tasks.
