Job summary

State of Georgia is seeking a Federal Work Study Student to work in the college bookstore at Southern Crescent Technical College. You will assist customers, greet guests, and help with book selections while performing light clerical tasks and inventory duties.

The position is day shift for a student employeeearning $12.00 per hour, with duties ranging from shelving and displays to answering inquiries and processing orders.

Qualifications

• Experience in business management, or related field and/or equivalent work experience in retail sales, marketing and merchandising with an emphasis in customer service.
• Experience in inventory control; must be able to routinely lift up to 25 pounds, bend, stoop and stand for long periods of time.
• High school diploma or GED
• Financial need and PELL eligible
• Be enrolled as a student at the location seeking employment
• Satisfactory academic progress for Federal Student Aid programs

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in the college bookstore and greet them in a friendly manner.
• Help customers with book selections and answer questions from students and instructors.
• Answer, screen and route telephone calls to appropriate staff.
• Assist with inventory and ensure shelves and prices are properly displayed.
• Maintain a clean, orderly store environment and display merchandise attractively.
• Perform general clerical duties and support day-to-day bookstore operations.
• Adhere to scheduling, attendance, breaks, and policy guidelines.
