Job summary

Hamline University is seeking a part-time Facilities Technician to operate and maintain the Central Plant equipment, including high-pressure steam boilers and chillers. You will monitor the building automation system, perform water treatment, and coordinate with contractors for campus projects.

The role requires a Minnesota 1st Class B Engineers License (or higher), a high school diploma or GED, and at least 3 years of boiler operation experience.

Qualifications

• Must have Minnesota 1st Class B Engineer's License (or higher).
• 3 years of experience operating high-pressure steam boilers.
• Ability to read blueprints and operate building automation systems.

Responsibilities

• Operates boilers and chillers in a safe manner.
• Performs daily water treatment testing and takes corrective actions.
• Operates the building automation system and adjusts based on conditions and demand.
• Conducts preventive and corrective maintenance on Central Plant and campus facilities.
• Completes work orders and paperwork in CMS (AkitaBox).
• Performs safety checks on sprinkler and fire pumps.
• Maintains clean and professional Central Plant and mechanical rooms.
• Assists contractors and facilities staff on projects and access control.
