Job summary

Illinois Central College East Peoria campus is seeking a Part-Time Student Success Advisor to support students from onboarding through completion. You will provide holistic advising, coach students in career exploration, and develop personalized plans.

The role emphasizes building relationships, maintaining records in the advising system, coordinating with faculty and services, and meeting peak enrollment coverage during January and August.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Two years of experience working with college students or in education, counseling, student services or a related field.
• Ability to relate to students of diverse backgrounds and experiences and a commitment to student equity.
• Knowledge of Microsoft applications and ability to use technology effectively in the execution of job duties.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate student success by offering personalized support, guiding students to resources, and acknowledging each student's unique story.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ICC’s programs, policies, and processes to assist students with degree or transfer requirements, schedule planning, and the use of advising tools.
• Proactively manage the student caseload by scheduling and conducting sessions with students in multiple communication channels (in-person, phone, email, text, virtual meetings).
• Refer students to campus and community support resources when needed.
• Develop individualized academic plans for students, working with faculty and staff to identify academic interventions and available resources.
• Maintain good records and accurate notes about each student’s status, progress, and next steps toward completion in the advising management system.
