Job summary

Aramark at James Madison University East Campus Dining Hall in Harrisonburg, VA is seeking a Baker to join the Food Services Team. You will bake a variety of items, set up the workstation with ingredients and equipment, and operate ovens and mixers to deliver fresh baked goods.

This role emphasizes safety, proper food handling, and teamwork with the dining services staff. Prior bakery experience and basic math/communication skills are preferred; food safety certification may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience as baker or related role preferred.
• Knowledge of baking methods and food safety regulations (handling, sanitation, storage).
• Food safety certification(s) required.
• Demonstrates basic math and counting skills.
• Interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Bakes and prepares a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes.
• Sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment.
• Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, etc.
• Operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, mixers, etc.
• Safely uses a variety of utensils including knives.
• Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures.
• Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
• Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including proper food safety and sanitation.
• Ensures security of company assets.
