Job summary

Emory University seeks an Assistant Vice President of Auxiliary Services to lead Housing, Dining, Bookstore, Emory Card, and Mail & Print services. The role focuses on strategic leadership, operations oversight, and financial stewardship to support the university mission and student experience.

The AVP will drive revenue growth, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with university policies and regulations while collaborating with legal, compliance, and risk management teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 10 years of progressive leadership experience in auxiliary services or related fields.
• Master's degree in Business Administration, Higher Education Administration, or related field preferred.
• Experience managing in the Auxiliary Services space on a college campus with oversight of services such as housing, dining, bookstore and ID card services strongly preferred.
• Proven experience managing complex operations, budgets, and vendor relationships.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to customer service, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team delivering high‑quality, customer‑focused services across multiple units.
• Develop and implement long‑term strategic plans for auxiliary services and annual budgets.
• Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, performance evaluation, and renewals.
• Ensure transactions and activities align with GAAP, audit, and university policies.
• Identify revenue and cost optimization opportunities while maintaining sustainability.
• Monitor industry trends and apply best practices to stay competitive.
• Supervise RFP processes and management of outsourced services.
• Ensure business continuity and safety across all auxiliary functions.
