Job summary

Vance-Granville Community College seeks an Associate Vice President (AVP) of Finance and Operations to lead college-wide support services in finance, business operations, and auxiliary services under the direction of the VP/CFO.

This in-office role also serves as Acting VP during the VP’s absence and participates in major initiatives. The AVP will oversee procurement, audits, risk management, campus safety, and related functions to ensure compliance and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent credential.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive financial administration experience.
• NC Contract Manager certification required, or to be obtained within nine months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational oversight of college-wide finance, business operations, and auxiliary services.
• Coordinate external audits and financial reporting for the College and Foundation.
• Oversee procurement, contracting, and vendor relationships; ensure compliance with policies.
• Identify and manage financial risks; maintain insurance portfolios and risk controls.
• Collaborate with Plant Operations and Public Safety on risk, safety, and training.
