Job summary

La Joya Independent School District is seeking an Elementary Attendance Clerk to support daily attendance accuracy at an assigned campus in La Joya, Texas. The role reports to the campus principal and operates as a non-exempt administrative support position.

The incumbent will manage attendance records, perform basic accounting tasks related to attendance, and communicate with teachers, nurses, counselors, and families to improve student attendance outcomes.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Graduate or GED or higher.
• Ability to type at least 50 words per minute with reasonable accuracy.
• Knowledge of correct English usage, grammar, spelling and punctuation.
• Proficiency in modern office procedures and software.

Responsibilities

• Apply accounting procedures related to student attendance and state regulations.
• Coordinate with campus attendance offices and report attendance matters.
• Collaborate with teachers, nurse, counselors and admins to address attendance issues.
• Contact parents of absent students and maintain a log of calls.
