Job summary

LCCC seeks Campus Activities Programmers to organize and execute campus and cultural events, supporting the campus, the student body, and student organizations with fresh ideas. This on-site role is based in Cheyenne, WY, and starts as soon after screening as practical.

The position includes office hours within Student Life, a weekly staff meeting, and overseeing campus activities and events, with duties such as staffing the food pantry and distributing flyers.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Current LCCC student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits per semester.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule around semester events.
  • Ability to work with diverse topics and cultures with an open mind.

Job description

Campus Activities Programmers (CAPs) are responsible for organizing, planning, and executing campus events as well as campus cultural events. They are considered a programming ally for the campus, the student body, as well as student organizations who want to bring new ideas and activities to the LCCC campus. CAPs are responsible for office hours within Student Life, a weekly staff meeting, and overseeing campus activities and events.


Closing Date:Open until filled.

Start Date:As soon after screening as practical.

Compensation:$13.33 per hour.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:– this position isnon-exempt, i.e., is eligible for compensatory or overtime pay provisions of the FLSA. This listing of essential duties is not all-inclusive, but representative; other duties may be assigned).

  • Research, collaborate, plan, implement, and attend events in accordance with program and college procedures and expectations.
  • Help organize, restock, and staff the food pantry
  • Help distribute flyers, staff the office, attend meetings

Other tasks may be assigned based on contemporary institutional needs.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:
  • Frequently move around the assigned work areas as well as within hallways, meeting rooms, and other parts of the campus facilities
  • Engage in multiple/daily instances of prolonged sitting, standing, bending, kneeling, twisting, climbing and carrying of objects
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus
  • The overall work environment requires the mental ability to shift focal point quickly due to interruptions; an employee must be able to mentally track multiple projects and tasking as well
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; however, there may be unexpected instances of somewhat loud sounds
  • Ability to effectively listen and perceive the nature of sounds and spoken words at normal speaking levels with or without correction.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Current LCCC student and continued enrollment in a minimum of 6 credits a semester, (exceptions may be given for summer term with supervisor approval).
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that changes base d on semester events.
  • Ability to work with diverse topics and cultures with an open mind.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year of experience in an office setting working with Microsoft Office Software. (Excel, Word, Etc.)
  • One year of experience in event planning.
