Job summary

The University of Maine in Orono seeks an Access Control Coordinator to oversee technical services for residence halls and campus facilities. You will work closely with Residential Life, Facilities Management, IT, Campus Security and UMaine Police to safeguard students and staff across the campus.

Required: a bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 2–3 years of relevant experience, plus knowledge of electrical systems, networking, and project coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field plus 2–3 years of experience.
• Experience in electrical fields, with instrumentation and control circuitry.
• Valid Maine driver’s license or ability to obtain university driver authorization.
• Proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Proficiency with communication technologies, including coax, fiber, network and RF distribution.
• Basic understanding of network communication protocols.
• Experience coordinating people, projects and tasks to deadlines.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and manage multiple projects.
• Strong communication across university groups.
