Job summary

Grand Rapids Community College is seeking a Building Access & Security Technician to install, maintain, and support campus access control systems across GRCC. You will work under the Building Access & Security Specialist to ensure door hardware, keys, and electronic security meet operational needs.

Candidates should have an associates degree preferred, 1–2 years of experience with S2/Atrium systems, and strong problem solving.

Qualifications

• Associates degree preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience with mechanical/electronic door hardware and access controls.
• Knowledge of Atrium and S2 electronic access systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, maintain, and replace card readers, electric strikes, and locks.
• Create door access programs and manage daily lock/unlock functions.
• Maintain S2 and Atrium access data and reports.
• Audit Raider Card access and ensure data integrity.
• Collaborate with IT on program issues and security projects.
• Support campus lockdowns and emergency access procedures.
• Review hardware schedules and verify installations on capital projects.
