Title: Technician, Electronic Access Control Systems

Department: DT Physical Plant

Work Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 4:00pm

Remote Eligible: This position is not eligible for remote work

Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager of Electronic Access and Control Systems, the Electronic Access Control System Technician is responsible for installing, configuring, monitoring, and maintaining Tarrant County College District (TCCD) security systems, including the Electronic Access Control System (EACS), Locking Systems (Yale and Schlage), File Maker Pro 9 Key Control System, KeyWatcher System and Panic Button System, to ensure the security of all facilities and occupants.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Performance Requirements
  • Maintains close working relationship with campus, Police, and Facilities Operations personnel
  • Configures, monitors and maintains the security systems to perform functions as required and troubleshoots security system servers and peripheral equipment to determine and remedy problems by installing, modifying, adjusting, repairing or replacing parts and equipment as required
  • Processes work order requests for additions and deletions of TCCD personnel, vendor, visitor credentials, privileges, the addition of security areas and capabilities to the security systems and monitors personnel additions, changes and terminations to ensure databases are kept current
  • Assists in the review of plans and specifications for the inclusion and appropriate application of the security systems in the addition, modification, and upgrade of new and existing facilities to assure adherence with TCCD Design Standards
  • Assists in the acceptance and commissioning of additions, modifications, and upgrades to the security systems
  • Observes safety regulations and participates in ongoing safety‑training program to cover all aspects of the work performed by the Facilities Operations Department
  • Collaborates with department and campus leadership, faculty, staff, students, and the general public to carry out responsibilities effectively
Service Excellence
  • Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the work site
  • Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
  • Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College
Supervision

Works under the general supervision of the Manager of Electronic Access and Control Systems

Performs Other Related Tasks as Required

Required Minimum Qualifications
