Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, has a full-time Security Officer opportunity in New Orleans, LA. You will manage entry points, verify credentials, and deliver customer service to students, staff, and visitors in a campus setting.

The role emphasizes access control, incident response, and regular patrols to deter unauthorized access while upholding a welcoming campus environment. The schedule covers evenings with multiple days per week.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials, identification, visitor authorization, and/or delivery permissions in accordance with campus procedures.
• Control entry to assigned academic, residential, administrative, and/or event locations; maintain accurate access-related logs and report unusual activity to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and contacting Allied Universal leadership or emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
