Job summary

Galileo Learning is seeking an experienced Camp Director to lead our summer camps for K–8th grade, serving as site General Manager and the public face of the organization. You will open and operate a location, lead a dynamic team of educators and entry-level staff, and ensure joyful, safe environments with top-notch customer care and curriculum.

You will be accountable for preseason planning, on-site operations, and end-of-summer wrap-up, while building a strong camp culture and partnerships

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience working directly with students in an education setting.
• Minimum 1 year of experience managing or supervising adult staff.
• Proven experience creating safe, inclusive environments for children and building trust with families.
• Proven experience setting clear expectations, giving ongoing feedback, and coaching staff to improve.
• Experience with scheduling, staffing, and payroll management.
• Willingness to travel to up to 3 in-person marketing events in the region.
• Ability to meet state requirements to work with children and have CPR/First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead camp launch and oversee preseason planning through end-of-summer wrap-up.
• Oversee daily operations and parent communication while delivering an exceptional program.
• Maintain camper safety, family trust, and program fidelity at all times.
• Train and mentor a staff team of 7 to 40, providing ongoing feedback and development.
• Turn challenges into opportunities, align operations with Galileo’s mission, and communicate with leadership.
